The development of straw resources has become a modern energy economic hotspot. The production technique of straw derv is getting mature. There are over 200 patents about straw derv, a dozen of straw derv development companies and millions of dollars of research fund in the world. There are 3 such companies in US which are able to manufacture 100 tons of straws. Denmark and Canada possess mature technology in this field too. Biotechnology Department of Dalian Physical and Chemical Institutes and Clean Energy Lab of University of Science and Technology of China are successful in producing derv from straw. Jilin Province is a great agricultural province with a famous corn zone and sufficient corn straw resources. To establish a modern straw derv plant with an annual output of 300,000 tons will be a great drive for the economic prosperity of the province.

This project possesses great economic, biological and social benefits. The total income will reach 2.4 billion Yuan, tax will reach 89 million Yuan and profit after tax will be 260 million Yuan. Rate of return on investment is 40% while the profit and tax investment ratio is 54%.

Total investment is 850 million Yuan among which 50 million Yuan is research fund, 300 million Yuan is equipment fund, 100 million Yuan is material cost, 200 million Yuan is assistant equipments cost and 200 million Yuan is other necessary costs.

And other biomass derv companies in U, acquired and improved their biomass derv production technology f and then formed the independent patent and industry based on the specific conditions in China.
